Welcome to Advance Migration Services Australia Web-site. We hope you find this interesting and exciting.

Australia is basically a migrant country with majority of its people coming from all parts of the world. Apart from the aborigines, the indigenous people of Australia, the majority of Australia's population is of the migrant stock. Australia is committed to the concept of multi-culturalism and is building a society with diversified ethnicity, united as a people who hold dear to the values of freedom, respect of the individuals and the democratic way of life.

The Australian Migration Program is non-discriminatory on grounds of race, colour, national or ethnic origin, sex and religion. Immigration policies are determined by Australia's national interest as defined by major government policies and strategies for Australia's social, economic and cultural development. Policies seek to develop a harmony of outcomes between economic and social interests.

Australia is a huge continent with a relatively small population (around 21 million, 2001 estimate), well endowed with rich natural resources. It has been and will be a very attractive destination for people to migrate. It is a country that has great potentials and offers a great future for people with skills and ambitions to make a better life for themselves and their families.

Australia migration law is complex and constantly changing. The Australian Immigration Programs are comprehensive and inclusive. Migration rules and regulations are very strict and confined, targeted to achieve specific objectives. Because of this, they are very complicated to a lay person who is not familiar with the Australian Migration Laws, Rules and Regulations. This is further complicated by the constant changes in the migration rules and regulations introduced to cater for Australia's needs at different moments in time, dictated by Australia's own current interests in the economic, social and cultural fields. A person's background may not meet the requirements of a certain category at a moment in time, but he may, however be able to satisfy the requirements at another time or in another category. All these require professional expertise in the areas of business/management/education on top of knowledge in migration law, rules and regulations.

Although the administrators of the Department of Immigration And Citizenship (DIAC) provide updated information on immigration procedural requirements, visa changes to the general public, their workloads and official role do not permit them to go into depths the counseling of potential clients, in matching the client's background and circumstances with the most appropriate class of entry. In their section on 'Disclaimers', DIAC stated that "The Commonwealth of Australia is not engaged in rendering professional advice". Realizing this, the Australian government has allowed professionals in the private sector to play an important role in advising clients on a more personal basis in exploring the best option for application. The self-regulated Migration Agent Registration Authority (MARA) was formed to ensure a high degree of professionalism among its members in the practice of migration consulting.

In Australia, migration advice can only be provided by a professional migration agent registered with the Migration Agent Registration Authority. All registered migration agents have to undergo intensive training in migration law and pass an examination and be involved in continuing professional development (CPD) to keep up with changes in migration laws, rules and regulations. All registered migration agents are governed by a formal migration agent Code of Conduct. While there is no legal requirement for migration agents operating outside Australia to be registered with the Migration Agent Registration Authority, the Department of Immigration And Citizenship (DIAC) strongly recommends the use of a registered migration agent. All registered migration agents are therefore 'on par' with each other as far as having the basic knowledge of migration law, rules and regulations are concerned, but in practice the more effective ones are those who are experienced, not only in matters of the migration laws, but also having practical knowledge in the fields of business/management/education so that the planning on individual cases matches the individuals' backgrounds with the requirements of the appropriate categories of migration eligibility. The crucial determinant of a successful migration outcome is the submission of the application that includes the correct documentation of supporting documents requiring the practical knowledge in the fields of education and work experience for the Independent Skilled Migration category on the one hand, and business experiences in the Business Skilled Migration category on the other. All of our consultants are experienced in all of these fields.
