Background
Michael is an industrial
psychologist and has had extensive experience in management, worked as senior
manager and professional management consultant in government, commerce and
industries in the Australasia-Pacific region for over thirty years. Heavily
involved in education in the academic, vocational, management fields as a
teacher, administrator and professional consultant. Having taught in the
TAFE system in Australia
and worked as a Principal of a private College in Sydney, Michael was exposed to Australian
Government educational policies, regulations and directions and issues of
comparative education. Previously a senior lecturer at the Nanyang Technological
University, Singapore, started the Australian
International School and later AIT TAFE Centre in Singapore.
Earlier Michael was the
Head of Personnel Management and Industrial Relations Unit of the National
Productivity Board (NPB), a government statutory board set up under the
UN/ILO IDP to promote productivity in Singapore through training and
consultancies, undergone projects in the areas of marketing, industrial
engineering, management accounting and general management. Exposed to a
wide range of industrial problems, issues of management, industrial
relations, national manpower planning and training, efficiency affecting
national productivity and economic development. Re-organization and training
at the General Post Office; analysis and evaluation of jobs at Port of
Singapore Authority; improving efficiency through design of systems in
government departments and industries, project management consultancy with
Singapore Airlines adopting a multi-disciplinary approach.
Later, as a senior
consultant in commercial sector with Ernst Young Consultants, Hay-MSL and
other private consultancies; involved in corporate planning with Singapore
Airlines and Telecoms, the latter included OD, training and manpower
planning and development; OD consultancy with Cummins Engines (U.S.A.),
manpower planning; selection and recruitment for Brunei Shell; identified
training needs and planned for management development for various
corporations like Matsushita Electronics; design of MIS, profit and
budgetary planning for KFC; computerised systems of administration for NCR;
professional recruiter (and ‘headhunter’) for a wide number of companies.
Other line management
positions include Group Human Resource Director of Haw Par Brothers Group
International, a conglomerate company listed in the Stock Exchanges of
Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia; Personnel Manager of Hewlett-Packard;
and General Manager of a Japanese plastic manufacturing multi-national
company, supplying plastic casing to Matsushita Electronics. As line
manager did similar things (and design of compensation and incentive
schemes, union negotiations, management training and development, etc.) and
applied same skills in identifying problems and responsible for
implementing changes. Actively involved in the productivity movements in Singapore, was elected Council Member of the
National Productivity Association, a national body responsible for
spearheading productivity improvements in Singapore.
Michael spent a large
part of his life in Australia
and returned to settle permanently in 1989. Michael has assisted many
students to study in Australia
and in the early 1900s helped many business people migrated to Australia
under the Business Migration Program (BMP) and other individuals in the
Independent and Skilled categories.

Geoff N. Payne

Background
Geoff graduated as an electronic engineer,
but moved into human relations field during the 1990s. He has worked as a
research and design engineer within both government organisations and
private companies, and later held senior positions as contract manager,
project manager and quality manager (ISO9001). He has been credited with
innovative designs at international level and led industry-government
collaborative teams.
Geoff has always
had a strong interest in motivation and developing people. He worked with
Daparin Knight as a recruitment consultant and commenced formal training in
1991 as a relationships and marriage counsellor. In 1992, he left
engineering for Skillshare to train people in job placements and
presentation skills, and then trained as a teacher in adult education. He
worked for the next six years in TAFE, teaching technology and computers to
both students and staff. During this time, he planned an ISO9002
accreditation for a major TAFE college and worked extensively in projects
to attract more people to technology careers. He left TAFE and commenced
his own business in computer skills training in 2000.
Geoff is married
to a migrant and his many years of dealing with young people, adults and
senior citizens provided a broad insight into education, training,
recruitment, motivation, personal relationships and brought him into
contact with many immigrants. He has travelled through some of the
countries close to Australia,
enjoyed their hospitality, and decided to focus on assisting people to
immigrate to Australia.

Linda L.M. Xie

Background
Linda
is effectively bi-lingual in both Chinese and English. She graduated with a
Bachelor of Psychology from one of the top universities in Shanghai
and has equipped herself with accounting and financial knowledge and skills
in Australia
through TAFE. Currently she is doing a Master of Business Administration
(MBA) course with the Graduate School of Management at the University of
New South Wales (UNSW) on a part-time basis. She has over 10 years’ working
experience in the commercial sector in China primarily in the role of
marketing, business analysis, market research and product launch. In Australia she has been working with various
banks and financial institutions in the banking/financial field, advising
clients on various lending products, business loans and business ventures
in Australia.
Concurrently she has been doing consultancy services in migration to
Australia as a migration agent registered with MARA and is experienced in
providing financial and other documentations in support of different
categories of applications, especially in the Business Migration Program
where she is able to advise on all financial aspects of starting a business
and offering business venture opportunities in Australia.
In
China, Linda was working
with a Public Relations/Market Research U.S.
multi-national venture capital company in Shanghai as a Marketing Manager at a time
when the Chinese economy was starting to take off. She was involved with
market research, planning and budgeting, promotion and product launch for
the company as well as for a wide range of clienteles. She was very
successful in her job and helped the China marketing team working
with her to achieve better than expected annual growth of above 30% while
she was there.
Linda
migrated to Australia
in 2001 and was employed by various banks/financial institutions as loan
officers and later promoted to the position of Customer Relations Manager,
while at the same time giving advice on migration matters to overseas
business clients. She obtained her migration agent license with MARA in
2001 and worked as associates with Migration Agency firms. She is familiar
with the Australian financial/banking scene and able to advise clients on
business ventures in Australia,
packaging these with financial loans to match the requirements under the
Business Migration Program. As a result of her work in the banking sector
she has maintained a good network of high net worth customers and business
people and all other reputable related professional service providers like
accountants, solicitors, insurers and business advisers.
Linda,
as a result of her transition from a Chinese to a Western living and
business environment both from a social and commercial perspective,
understands the cross-cultural issues of settlement and adjustments, in
terms of living and doing business in Australia. She is most capable
in advising clients from that part of the world who are interested in
migrating to Australia
under independent skilled, family reunion, business and investments in Australia.
She is in an excellent position to build bridges between Australia and China.

Leslie Ivan Oorloff

Background
Leslie has been
working for the Australian Government for over thirty years. He is an
educationalist throughout most of his working life and served in the
Australian armed forces. Leslie spent 14 years in senior positions with the
New South Wales Colleges of Technical and Futher Education (TAFE), an
organisation that is responsible for technical training throughout Australia.
He has been through all aspects of the organisation and is familiar with
its evolving changes in policies and structures.
During this
period he occupied key positions at TAFE such as Chief Education Officer,
Curriculum Development and Maintenance; Chief Education Officer, College
Curriculum Services Unit; Regional Curriculum consultant, Western Sydney
Region; Senior Education Officer, School Curriculum Services Unit; and,
Education Officer, Curriculum Research Branch
Important
assignments undertaken were as Project Officer, External Studies Interstate
Co-operation and Equal Employment Opportunity Program/Staff Development;
and, Assistant to Director, Curriculum & Assessment.
Other special
appointments at TAFE were: Chief Education Officer, International
Marketing; Chairman, TAFE OH & S Committee; Co-ordinator of Training
Development, Director of Schools' Unit; Executive Officer of the National
Working Party on Metal Trades; Chairman and executive Officer of taskforce
on Developing Strategies and Training Programs for Unemployed Mature Age
People; and, Quality Assurance Co-ordinator, Transport Industry Training
Division.
Leslie
originated from Singapore
and migrated to Australia
in the early sixties. He is living a happy life in Australia, married an
Australian of Scottish descent, raised a family with his wife and has two
loverly daughters. He is our consultant in the areas of occupation
requirements, education, training, skills development, job opportunities
and other settlement issues.
