BUSINESS SKILL MIGRATION
Recently there have been great changes to the Business
Skill Migration Program. DIMIA has done away with the point system and in
majority of cases imposes a age limit on independent sponsored category and
only grant provisional visa for period of 4 years. These changes essentially
fall back on the State/Territory governments to select the type of business
migrants each State/Territory requires. The Pathways to Permanent Residence are

In all of the above cases,
except for the High Calibre Business Owner subcategory, the pathway to
obtaining permanent residence involves 2 stages. Each of these stages and each
of these sub-classes require different set of criteria. Only an expert
immigration consultant can advise you the best sub-class that matches with your
background. If your age at the time of application is below 45 years of age,
you may apply as an independent, but if your age is above 45 and below 55 years
you will need the sponsorship of a State/Territory government. If you are above
55 years of age, you must be a high calibre Business Owner in order to qualify.
